Let It Go Yoga *
Let It Go Yoga is a series of yoga postures that are practiced lying down. This is a gentle, yet challenging style that combines yoga, meditation and deep breathing for a safe and effective practice that works the entire body. Learn to slow down, relax on a deep level and let gravity help realign the spine and ease out pain and stress.
Basic Hatha Yoga *
Basic Hatha Yoga uses traditional yoga postures and breathing techniques in a variety of ways. This practice includes standing, seated, supine and inverted poses. Learn to work with your body by using yoga props, such as blocks, blankets, straps and the wall to help your alignment.
Flow Yoga
Flow Yoga builds on the Basic Hatha Yoga poses and is practiced in a more continuous, flowing manner. Using a series of sun salutations combined with deep breathing and inner focus the body is warmed up from the inside. The practice includes standing, seated, supine and inverted postures.
Restorative Yoga *
Restorative Yoga uses yoga props such as bolsters, blankets and straps to allow you to comfortably remain in a yoga pose for an extended hold. You will learn to go into deep levels of relaxation, releasing your body's natural healing abilities.
* Can be practiced during pregnancy
Tips For Beginners
It is advisable not to eat a meal for 2 to 3 hours before practicing yoga. Fruit or a light snack may be taken an hour before if you find it necessary.
Loose comfortable clothing or more form fitted yoga wear that allows for freedom of movement are best. Men usually wear shorts or sweats. Layers can be helpful as the body will heat up and cool down during a practice.
A hot bath or hot tub after your practice may be helpful to relieve muscles of any temporary soreness you may experience.
A Note For New Students:
Each month we send an email so that you can reserve your space. Please let us know what classes you are planning on attending. If you cannot make a class that you have reserved please give us 24 hour notice so that we can put another student in your spot. We will charge you for any class that you do not attend without notice as we sometimes have a wait list and could fill your space. However, if you are not feeling well we want you stay home and take care of yourself. You will not be charged if you call or email and let us know that you are not feeling well.
We open the door 5 minutes before class time, feel free to come in then and get ready for class. If you are earlier than that, please wait outside as we use all the time getting ready for your arrival. We lock the door 10 minutes past the start of class so that we do not have late comers disrupt the class.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions to make your yoga experience better.
